Transportation from Airport

The airport is approximately 20 km from Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge and there are several ways to make the trip. The three airport terminals (1 and 2A/2B) are connected by a bus service (200E).

Taxi

Taxis of the company Főtaxi can be reserved at the booths located at the exit of all three terminals or directly at the taxi ranks outside the airport. All cars are equipped with POS terminals so it possible to pay with credit card.

The ride, lasting about half an hour, costs HUF 5800-6000 (approx. €21). More details can be found here.

When returning to the airport after the event, if you're looking to save a little money order your own taxi or have someone order it for you. If the Sofitel consierge orders the taxi or you take one from just outside the door it can cost up to 50% more. Some taxis accept credit card payments.

Shuttle

AirportShuttle-Minibus, operating 24 hours a day, provides a convenient door-to-door transfer between the airport and any point of Budapest. Customer help desks are available at every terminal, while all minibuses depart from the Terminals’ Main Entrance.

Reservations can be made in person at the desks or 24 hours before your flight via online reservation system www.airportshuttle.hu, through travel agencies or by contacting the Call Center at +36-1 296-855.

The price of the service depends on the number of people sharing the minibus. For the area around the conference venue, the maximum price, in case of one passenger only, is 3200 HUF (approx. €11) and drops to 2000 HUF (approx. €7) in case of over 8 passengers. Train

Trains stop next to Terminal 1 and reach Nyugati pu. (Western Railway Station) within 20 minutes. There are about 100 trains a day. A single full-fare ticket costs 365 HUF (approx. €1,30).

The conference venue is 2km away from Budapest station (indicated on the map above) and can be reached by bus or tram.
