Marketing on a Shoestring: how to attract more clients with creative marketing (Thursday 2 October. 1-day workshop)

Is your Marketing Plan not attracting all the clients you need? You can be a better marketer and attract more clients without sacrificing your integrity. As marketing budgets tighten, a creative approach becomes even more important. This workshop will guide you through the essentials of marketing and how to get your company noticed on a tight budget through creative marketing approaches.
You will work on how to develop an effective marketing campaign, including defining marketing objectives, crafting a message, and pinpointing target groups. At the end of the day you will leave with your own no-hype marketing plan that makes sense and is both easy and affordable to implement. You will learn how to:
  • Get better marketing results and attract more clients more consistently
  • Communicate your marketing message in a way that prospects become interested in what you offer

Tools of the Trade (Friday 3 October. 1-day workshop)

Do you feel overwhelmed about which translation memory, terminology management, and translation workflow management products you should purchase for your growing company? Are you not happy with the tool(s) you currently are using and would like to know what other software solutions have to offer? If so, then this is your workshop.
Reusing translations from previous projects with the aid of translation memory tools has become commonplace. However, when companies have to switch products or compare the outcome of statistics for word counts and match rates, the differences between those tools become apparent. Join our workshop to find out where the tools are comparable and where not, how TMX (translation memory exchange) can help you and how to evaluate what tool might be the right one for you. An independent expert who knows the tools we all use will provide attendees with an unbiased overview of what is available to help your company function more efficiently. Presented by Angelika Zerfaß of Zaac.

But how do you go about finding and selecting the best partner? Vendor Management is the least explored operation in translation companies. In the past year, Common Sense Advisory has been organizing sessions with large buyers and vendors of translation services and looking at technology providers.
